Hawaiian Turkey Sliders
Makes about 12 sliders
1 ½ pounds lean ground turkey
fine zest of ½ lemon
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
½ white or yellow onion, finely chopped
¼ cup Italian style bread crumbs
1 egg
½ tablespoon freshly chopped cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon ground mustard
12 Mini Hawaiian rolls, split
In large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except Hawaiian rolls. Mix by hand until well combined. Form into 1/2 to 1 inch thick patties, about 2-inches in diameter.
Heat grill or grill pan over medium heat. Cook patties about 4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Serve on Hawaiian roll with special sauce such as Roasted Red Pepper Aioli, Sundried Tomato Aioli or Smoked Tomato Aioli. Or serve with your favorite traditional toppings such as mayonnaise, ketchup, lettuce, pickle, and mustard.
